Tandem drives - combined motion
The MIKSCH tandem drive combines two cam drives in a single, compact housing.
By rotating the input shaft, step or oscillating motions can be effected on the output shaft. These can be combined at will.

INTERMICO tandem drive
The compact design and forced synchronization of multiple motions offer the ideal basis for generating planar motions via secondary crank drives. The tandem drive is based on two complementary disk cams.
The input shaft and output shaft are arranged in parallel. The design of the INTERMICO tandem drive is based on the MIKSCH CF3 drive.
Standard number of stations: 1-8
Standard oscillating angle: up to 60°
Torque: up to 500 Nm
Design: as housed unit with and without drives

Products are supplied on parallel belts at distance A; shall be deposited on belts at 90° at distance B.
Comment: Only 3 movements are shown here on one plane for reasons of presentation.

For a conveyor belt cycled by an index drive a slide is moved over a distance synchronously to the moving belt by means of the synchronously driven disc cam. The parts located on the slide thereby remain longer at the same cycle as the belt, and machining operations can be performed on the cycled parts during the movement.
A continuously running section shall be cut into defined formats. To achieve this, the cutting device must have the same horizontal traversing speed during the cutting process to ensure that no relative movement to the section occurs.
Device is used to reposition products provided onto a conveyor with offset position. During the swivel movement the products are moved apart to an enlarged distance. The entire process takes place in synchromesh manner with a single drive.
Two output movements are generated by one drive motor. Downstream cam gears generate a combined movement of a walking beam - special feature: Basic conditions such as soft contact of the walking beam with the product during lifting and lowering can be specified.
Groove cam to generate synchronisation between two different movements.
A continuously running section shall be cut into defined formats. To achieve this, the cutting device must have the same horizontal traversing speed during the cutting process to ensure that no relative movement to the section occurs.
A 4-station index drive generates the swivel movement and an add-on cam segment changes the gap. Spreading of A to B takes place during the rotation movement.
Special gear boxes with 4 synchronised output movements - driven via a central input shaft.
- 3 oscillating drives with parallel axes
- 1 index drive with crossed axes
Parts are delivered in linear fashion over a longer distance. Parts are located in a fixture. Parts are lifted off and brought into a new position in linear fashion. They are deposited there and brought into a new position, which carries out a linear movement of specified length. This system creates a progressive movement.
Revolving work station over several work cycles. Driven by a central drive.
