MIKSCH GmbH – cams, cam gear, tool changers,
tool magazines and tool-changing systems
With cams, cam calculations, cam production as well as cam gear and calculation of cam gear, MIKSCH belongs to the specialists in the areas of handling and assembly technology and tool-changing systems.
MIKSCH developed and produced for you assemblies for the tool / workpiece handling
optimized to your requirements.
We manufacture rotary index tables, index drives, oscillating drives, tool changers and also magazines for machine-tools in the form of chain magazines, disc magazines, pick-up magazines, shelf magazines and complete tool-changing systems.
MIKSCH provides the required accessories for all of these components.
Cams are the essential components of a cam gear. In the field of gear technology, cam gears belong to the group of irregularly shaped movement-conveying gears.
They compose a universal machine element for controlling motion processes in all kinds of machines and plant systems.
Being able to realise nearly any motion process of the output element constitutes an essential advantage. Every specific motion diagram requires a respective cam.
Furthermore, cams require little space in the machine because of their compact design and, apart from lubricating the roller paths, can be regarded as maintenance-free. Rollers or sliding pieces can be used as transmission parts.
MIKSCH offers the following cam production options:
- Complete production including material (also hardening and grinding)
- Machining only: Material (forging blank) from customer
- Profile manufacturing only Semi-finished part from customer
The manufacturing capabilities include e.g. disc cams, cylindrical cams, globoidal cams and transport shafts.
The design of our cams is based on cam calculations.
The cam calculations are performed exclusively at MIKSCH using cam gear software which allows a large diversity of calculations on widely differing cam profiles such as globoidal cams, groove cams, spatial cams, cylindrical cams, disc cams, toric cams, up to transport shafts.
Because of our many years of experience with cam calculations and cam manufacturing, up to complete cam production, we posses the technical know-how for the handling technology and develop:
- Handling units, Handhabungsautomaten, Handhabungs Manipulatoren, Pick & Place Geräte sowie komplette Handhabungssysteme
- Rundschalttische, Schrittgetriebe
- Globoidgetriebe, Maltesergetriebe, Pendelgetriebe, Sternradgetriebe
- automatische Werkzeugwechsler, Palettenwechsler.
Our cam gear and cam drives control the movements of the rotary index tables and oscillating drives as well as the index drive with index gears. The output on rotary index tables or index drives are controlled by our cam gear technology.
A MIKSCH tool-changing system is a combination of a magazine and tool changer with gripper arm. MIKSCH distinguishes between tool-changing systems with disk magazines and those with chain magazines.
The tool magazines as well as the tool changers represent another product offering by MIKSCH for the machine tools industry.
We develop tool magazines, special tool changers with and without gripper arm or tool-changing systems according to your individual preferences.
MIKSCH supplies cam-controlled tool changers and tool-changing systems for metalcutting machines. These carry out all movements necessary for tool changes in a mechanically synchronised manner. MIKSCH tool changers are suitable for installation in horizontal and vertical machines as well as installation adjacent to and opposite the spindle. Depending on the weight of the tool and the radius of the gripping arm, changerover times of less than 0,5 seconds are possible.
They also feature the acknowledged advantages of cam gears:
Fast - Accurate - Low-maintenance
Our tool magazines are divided, amongst others, into chain magazines, disc magazines, pick-up magazines as well as the REMA shelf magazine patented by MIKSCH, with the worldwide unmatched storage capacity for tools (>500). Our magazines are optional supplementary modules for the tool changer.
MIKSCH products can optionally be equipped with further function groups or ease the handling of our products.
The MIKSCH SETT setup tool allows you to set the positions:
- magazine to tool changer
- tool changer to spindle
- pick-up magazine to spindle
in your machinging centre.
The eccentricity and the axial gap can hereby be easily determined and aligned using an innovative measuring procedure.
The AVO alignment device is used to adjust the accurately positioned transfer (concentricity and parallelism) of a tool support between components. E.g.:
- magazine to tool changer
- tool changer to spindle
- pick-up magazine to spindle
- Cams
- Cam gears
- Tool-changing systems
- REMA-shelf magazine
